How to install Solar panels using a Telescopic ladder and save up to £2000

More and more homes in the United Kingdom are getting solar panels fitted on their roof every year, saving the average household over £1000 a year on gas and electricity bills. In the UK alone there will be over 500,000 houses with these solar panels, but unfortunately you will need to have them installed for an average of 4 years before you start seeing a saving in your money, because these things can cost up to £4000 to buy and another £2000 to install.

If your like me and want to save every penny possible, then i suggest you read this guide, because it saved me over £2000 in fitting the solar panels. Firstly your going to need to buy the actual panels, i suggest you contact your local council to receive a permit, one you get a permit its really easy to install.

If your looking to buy a good quality solar panel kit, take a look inside you local B&Q store or visit a solar panel expert to see what fits your roof shape best. Take a look at the picture below to decide what your roof shape is.

If you lucky enough like me and have a Mansard roof shape, then your going to save alot of money as its the easiest roof to build solar panels onto, all you will need is a quality telescopic ladder, your solar panels (of course) and some panel holders (optional but a good idea in case a section breaks so you can replace it easily).

The reason why i suggest you use a telescopic ladder is because you will need to be at the very edge of the roof and not an inch over it, or else you will struggle to install the panels at the edge, this is where the telescopic ladder becomes very useful because you can easily adjust the height to your roofs specification as seen from the picture below:

For my house, i purchased a 3.8 meter ladder, which was enough to reach the top of my roof but you may need a longer one, but don't worry you can easily find one that can go up to 6 meters high!

Once you get the placements in place on the roof, its very simple to install the panels onto, saving you even more money without the need of an over priced 'engineer' to fit them in for you.

Hope this helps as saves you money!

Extra Battery or Portable Charger?

Hi everyone, Iv been planning on going on a world trip after Christmas to start of 2014, I seriously cant wait! Ill be visiting 5 countries across the world from Brazil to China and will be testing out my new Nokia Lumia 1020 camera, so stay tuned, ill be posting some of the pictures on Google+ and on this blog.

Anyway iv been looking for something to charge my phone while i travel, a friend suggested me just to buy an extra battery while another advised me to get a portable charger.

I could easily buy an extra battery for my phone on eBay but is it really efficient? I mean a battery would last me around 12 hours with moderate to heavy use, and with the Lumias 41 pixel camera it would probably be a lot less but there is also the problem with opening up the phone physically and replacing the battery which can be a real pain because it resets the clock on the phone causing my messages and other apps to act funny.

On the other hand iv found a 12,000mAh 'power bank' which is basically just a huge charger which would give me around 5 full charges without the need to open up my phone. Additionally it has 2 charging ports so my friend can also charge her phone at the same time. But the downside of a portable charger is the weight of it and also it may not get through airport security (ill be going through at least 7 different airports).

What do you guys think i should get?

Mac Pro... Good or Bad investment?

Apple are releasing their latest product tomorrow... The Mac Pro. Iv been saving up for this bad boy for months now.

Although the actual product isn't the most attractive Apple product on the market, the Specifications of this machine is really astonishing and make up for the ugly looks. Other than the price of £2,500 in the United Kingdom, everything about it seems incredible.

For starters, it has a completely new design from any computer we've ever seen, and Apple claim that its unique design greatly helps the hot air flow, making it much more efficient than similar processor computers. Speaking of Processors, the Mac Pro has a lighting quick 3.7Ghz  Quad-core Xeon processor, which can be easily over clocked to 3.9Ghz if you know what your doing, lets just hope Apple allow us to modify CPU values to achieve this (fingers crossed).

Additionally it also comes with 2 AMD FirePro D300 graphics cards, a massive 12GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage device.

Surprisingly this is the lower spec Mac Pro, if you decide to go for the higher performance one, you can expect to receive a 6-core Xeon processor with an additional 3GB of video RAM for the 2 graphics cards.

This thing will no doubt have incredible (possibly shocking) benchmarks when it comes out. For the amazing specifications of this thing, you expect the product to be fitted inside a huge PC tower but instead, Apple manage to fit inside a 10 inch tower.

I seriously cant wait for this to be released to the public, I wonder how well it will sell?!

Flexible Screen for the next iPhone?...

After the release of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C people already started anticipating where apple where taking the next iphone to.

Lets be serious Apple haven't exactly changed much of the iPhone aspects since... ever really. I mean the picture below speaks for itself.

Dont get me wrong i still love my iPhone but Apple cant possibly think people would love them forever. With constant changes to the technology world, they NEED to keep up if they want to stay on the Throne. For crying out loud we don't even have homepage widgets yet!

On the other side, unlike Apple, Google's Android are constantly evolving their nexus phone. And since Android is an Open source project, huge companies such as Samsung and LG can also work on awesome features that may be included in future phones.

For starters, Samsung earlier this year, revealed its new flexible screen technology. Which at first just sounds like a gimmick but seriously you have to watch the video presentation to fully understand and appreciate how this technology could affect our life:

What I would like in the next iPhone.

  1. A larger screen: My mothers Samsung galaxy s4 looks like a tank compared to my midget iphone 5C, and my eyesight isn't exactly getting better.
  2. A flexible Screen: Why not, Samsung is going to do it, why not apple?
  3. Wireless charging: How many times have you spent countless. pointless and valuable minutes trying to look for your phone charger? I know i have hundreds of times. Nokia have done it, why cant you apple!
  4. Some home screen widgets: For crying out loud Apple!, You create a 3d paradox wallpaper thingy, which only eats up battery and makes you dizzy, yet you cant even make a simple widget page.
Its really time for apple to brainstorm some ideas before its too late.

Introduction to the World Wide Web!

Good Evening, This is my quick intro to the world of bloggers! My name is Ambrose. I currently live with my Mum in South London and we both love technology specifically mobile devices.

If it really matters i have an iPhone 5c which is a great phone and my mum unfortunately hates apple and has a Samsung Galaxy S4.

Anyway we both decided to start blogging to see who can get more visitors to our blogs, I'm fairly sure ill beat her since i personally think Apple has a much larger fan base that Google, just saying! Its actually a little ironic i say that because i'm using blogger as my blog which is owned by Google. Dont get me wrong though, i love both Google and Apple. But in terms of mobile platform operating systems, i would bet my money on Apples IOS every time :)

So my current plan is to post to this blog every 2 days at least to keep you guys occupied. It will be mostly technology related so please feel free to leave if you are not interested :p

I plan to post my first (proper) post tonight before bed, so stay tuned for that.

Thats all from me. I hope you enjoyed my rather short and cheesy introduction but i hope iv made my point clear.
